Nozhikov moves between two rooms. In one, under the fluorescent glare of a late-night shawarma counter, men with Central Asian faces order, wait, and eat. In the other, an art-gallery crowd worries at a single question: what might have become of Russia had there been no revolution in 1917. The film cuts between the two and lets them answer each other.
